Piyawat Pantana

        
Piyawat graduated with honors from Payap University (Chiangmai) with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Voice).  He joined The Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok at its inception in 2005 and is periodically coached by Sophie Tanapura.  In 2005 and 2006, Piyawat attended vocal workshops by Ianna Sedlackova and drama workshops by Gil Alon respectively.

         Currently, he is teaching the International Academy of Music (MIFA) and is a founding member of The Voices, a Bangkok-based award-winning choral ensemble known for its contemporary repertoire . 

         In the recent Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok production of Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischutz, Piyawat played the double roles of Kilian and Eremit.  In the upcoming production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, Piyawat will assume the lead baritone role of Figaro himself.
