Pachisawat Sophie Tanapura

         Educated in voice at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris in the class of Paul Derenne (1979-84), she was also later formed by Michele Pena and Corinne Laporte in Paris, France as well as Gertrude Pitzinger in Frankfurt, Germany. Since then, she has given numerous song recitals and chamber music concerts in Europe, Vietnam and Thailand.

In 1986, Pachisawat Sophie founded the IBYCUS Chamber Orchestra and managed it for eight years before choosing to specialize with her international colleagues in chamber music in the now well-known IBYCUS Concert Series in Bangkok. In 1995 and 1996, Sophie went on concert tours in Vietnam. In 1996 and 1998, she performed with the Duo di Praga (Bena Havlu on the xylophone and Rudolf Rod at the piano) on a six-city tour of the Czech Republic. In December 1999, Sophie sang Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate with the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura.

In January 2001, Sophie participated in the Winter Concert Cycle of Majorca, Spain with flautist Sachiko Ebihara and pianist Elvira Galioullina. August 2001, she and her colleagues performed at the theaterette of the National University of Singapore; in March 2002, their stage was the Osmani Hall in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In May 2002, Sophie shared the stage with Chinese soprano Liu Jiaming accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tobias Gossmann. In April 2003, Sophie and Elvira performed in Lille, Menton (France) and San Remo (Italy). In May 2004, Sophie shared a vocal program with mezzo-soprano Katie Hill in Salt Lake City, Utah.

          Sophie is one of the founders of the Bangkok Philharmonic Program and principal voice teacher at the Music Center of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration from 2000-2005. In July 2004, she founded the Metropolitan Opera of Bangkok together with her students. In 2006, Sophie sang the role of Annchen in the M.O.B.’s production of  Weber’s “Der Freischutz” and the lead role of Susanna in Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” in 2007.  Sophie is recognized for her unique interpretation of German Lieder and is known for her innovative and efficient vocal teaching method.  Sophie teaches voice at her own studio and will open another vocal studio at the art studio of Artist society on Sukhumvit.

 

 
     

Siriwaranya Supranee          

           Siriwaranya began her voice lessons at the age of 17 with Ajarn Benjaporn Intorathanu in Chiangmai. At age 18, she was admitted to the Faculty of Music, Payap University in Chiangmai.  There she studied voice with Deborah Childs and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree (First honors).

           In the same year, she was admitted to the Masters Degree program in Vocal Performance at the College of Music, Mahidol University.  She studied with Ajarn Evin Lambert for one year, and in the beginning of 2005 she continued her study with Ajarn Tsui-Ping (Nancy) Wei. In the past two years, she has performed in many College concert projects such as Voice Department Concerts, The Four Seasons Vocal Concert, The Christmas Concert, A Magical Gypsy Night Concert, and taking up the roles as Peep-Bo in The Mikado, and as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel.  In the 2007 M.O.B. production of The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart, She sang the role of Marcellina.

           At present, she is a Teaching Assistant at Mahidol, and also works as a part time voice teacher at Siam Paragon Branch of College of Music, Mahidol University.
